Aves Gallery

Aves Gallery is a gallery and metadata exploration app that allows you to organize, view, and search for photos and videos stored on Android. It is compatible with common formats like JPEG and MP4 and other less common ones, including multi-page TIFF, SVG, and AVI. Plus, it analyzes the multimedia collection to identify different types of content, such as moving photos, panoramas, 360° videos, and GeoTIFF files.

Explore your photos and videos

Aves Gallery is designed to make it easy to navigate through a multimedia collection, allowing you to move from albums to photos, tags, and maps. Search and organization play an important role within the app, and this translates into being able to explore your library from different access points rather than being limited to browsing the images in order. An important part of Aves Gallery is that navigation is not limited to albums, as it also allows you to explore the collection using tags and maps. To do this, it uses the information available in the multimedia files. For files that contain location information, Aves Gallery will show you the coordinates and allow you to group them by country.

Compatible with many different formats

The app works with a wide variety of images and videos. As well as the most typical formats, it supports files such as multi-page TIFF, SVG, and AVI, making it possible to use Aves Gallery with collections that incorporate less conventional multimedia files. It also gives you the ability to identify moving photos, panoramas or spherical photos, 360° videos, and GeoTIFF files within your collection.

My thoughts after trying Aves Gallery

I have a very extensive photo and video library, so organizing it is a difficult task. I downloaded Aves Gallery hoping to get everything a bit more organized, but I was very surprised by the many possibilities it offered me. Since the app considers all the metadata, it can sort each photo or video using this information, which makes your life much easier. I was able to organize mine by country and other tags, so finding certain images is much easier for me now.

The best and worst of Aves Gallery

• What I liked most is the variety of formats and types of content it can handle.

• What I liked least is that this level of navigation and metadata exploration options can be a lot if you are just looking for a handy photo viewer.
